- Type A: Standard design that produces a simple 60° countersink angle.
- Type B: Bell type, which features two chamfer angles (60° and 120°). The secondary 120° chamfer protects the delicate edge of the primary center hole from chipping or wear during heavy machining.
They are typically composed of either High-Speed Steel (HSS) for standard applications or solid carbide for harder materials like stainless steel and heat-resistant alloys.
