Key Variations
Helix Angles:
Slow spiral angles (18° - 30°) work best for harder steels, while faster spirals (45° - 52°) are highly effective for pulling stringy chips out of soft aluminum.
Material & Coatings:
Most are made from High-Speed Steel (HSS). You can find coated options, such as Titanium Nitride (TiN) or Steam Oxide, which reduce friction and improve tool life in demanding applications.
Taper, Plug, or Bottoming:
